6 open roles

Build roofs that outlast the buildings

Six open roles on the Clinton Drive yard. Paid training from day one, gear provided, and a safety program that is not a poster in the break room.

Ironclad roofing crew on a commercial rooftop in safety gear
JOB
Crew first

What it is like here

Ironclad has been on Clinton Drive since 1998. Most of our foremen came up through the crews, our superintendent started as a helper, and the average tenure on the install side is nine years. We are not the biggest roofer in Houston and we do not want to be. We want the crews that owners ask for by name.

  • Overtime paid, never asked for off the clock
  • Weekly pay, direct deposit, no per diem games
  • Promote from inside, every opening posted internally first
  • Nobody is asked to work without fall protection, ever

A day on a crew

Monday to Thursday, ten hours, Friday held for weather. This is a real schedule, not a recruiting brochure.

  1. 5:45 am

    Yard call

Truck loaded the night before. Foreman pulls the plan, confirms the crane window and checks the weather radar.

  2. 6:30 am

    On site

Sign in, toolbox talk and job hazard analysis for the day. Perimeter protection goes up before anything else.

  3. 7:00 am

    Open the roof

Only what can be dried in before dark. Tear-off, insulation, cover board and membrane move as one line.

  4. 11:30 am

    Break in the shade

Water, electrolytes and a real break. In July that is not optional, it is the rule.

  5. 2:30 pm

    Seam probe

Every welded seam probed before it is signed off. Photos go into the daily log for the client.

  6. 4:00 pm

    Dry in and clean up

Everything opened is watertight. Magnet sweep, debris hauled, tools accounted for, crew home for dinner.

Not for the entry level roofer role. We hire people with a clean work history who show up on time and want to learn a trade, and we pay for the training. The other roles do require commercial experience.

No. Houston roofs need work year round, and our service and maintenance side keeps crews busy through the winter. We run overtime in the summer, not layoffs in the winter.

Our general superintendent started as a helper. We promote from inside first and post every opening internally before it goes public. Certifications are the usual path, and we pay for them.

Most crews run Monday to Thursday ten-hour days with Friday as a weather makeup day. Service technicians rotate one week of on-call per month with an on-call premium.

This is a demo website, so there is no live application system. On a real build this form would post to your applicant tracking system or send an email to your hiring manager.
