01 02 Perimeter guarded before work starts
Warning lines at six feet, guardrails at leading edges, and covers or rails on every skylight and hatch on the work area.
03 OSHA 10 for roofers, OSHA 30 for foremen
Nobody joins a crew without the card. Foremen and superintendents carry OSHA 30 plus competent person training for fall protection.
04 Heat illness program, May to October
Shaded rest areas, electrolyte supply on every truck, a buddy system and adjusted start times during Houston heat advisories.
05 Daily toolbox talk and JHA
Each morning the foreman runs a job hazard analysis for that day's tasks, signed by everyone on the roof. Weekly topics rotate through a 52-week schedule.

A safety coordinator photographs anchor use, housekeeping, kettle and torch practice, and ladder placement. Findings get corrected before the crew leaves.

How we work inside an occupied building
Hospitals, schools and plants each have their own rules. We adopt yours and write them into the daily hazard analysis rather than asking you to adapt to us.
- Before mobilization
- Certificates of insurance naming you as additional insured, our written safety plan and a site-specific hazard review with your facility team.
- Day one on site
- Crew orientation to your rules: access routes, restricted zones, hot work permits, badge or escort requirements and emergency assembly points.
- Every working day
- Sign-in, toolbox talk, JHA for the day's scope, and a walk of the perimeter protection before any material moves.
- Hot work
- Torch and kettle operations follow a permit, a fire watch stays 60 minutes past the last flame, and extinguishers are staged at the work area.
- Incidents
- Any injury, near miss or property damage is reported to you the same day with a written follow-up inside 48 hours.
- Closeout
- Magnet sweep of the grounds, debris check of landscaping and parking, and a final walk with your representative.

Modified bitumen and some detail work involve open flame. Every hot work operation runs under a written permit with extinguishers staged, combustibles cleared and a fire watch that stays an hour past the last flame.
